The Town's DRAFT 2018 Town Meeting Warrant is attached.  This is a working document and subject to change up until it is signed.  Due to the length of the Warrant and complexity of Zoning Articles for consideration, we want to circulate it as soon as possible so people can review and ask questions.  If you have any zoning ordinance amendment questions, please contact Casey Wolfe at 895 3200 x 306 on Tuesdays and Thursdays or by email at

Tuesday January 23, 2018 - Last day for new registrants who want to register prior to Candidate Declaration Period.  Supervisors of Checklist will meet from 7:00 to 7:30 pm at the Fremont Public Library.  Town Clerk is open 7:30 am to 3:00 pm.  This is the last time to register to vote prior to the Deliberative Sessions.  If you are not registered, you cannot vote at either Town or School Deliberative Session, as same day voter registration is NOT AVAILABLE for Deliberative Sessions.

Please bring proper ID and proof of residency to register to vote and to all elections.  The State has tightened up the forms, and if you don’t have an ID with a Fremont address on it, you will need to bring documentation from form Verifiable Action of Domicile RSA 654:7V (available on the Town’s website, from the Supervisors at a sign-up session or from the Town Clerk.)

The filing period for Town and School District Offices begins on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 and runs through Friday, February 2, 2018.  You can sign up during any Town Clerk Office hours.  On Friday February 2, 2018 the Town Clerk and School District Clerk will be available from 3:00 to 5:00 pm for sign-ups only, at the Fremont Town Hall.

        Supervisor of Checklist:  1 for 6 years
        Trustee of Trust Funds: 1 for 3 years
        Library Trustee: 1 for 3 years

        Cemetery Trustee: 1 for 3 years


        School Board Member:  2 for 3 years
        School District Treasurer: 1 for 1 year
        School District Clerk: 1 for 1 year
        School District Moderator: 1 for 1 year

    Additionally any interested School District Candidate can contact School District Clerk by contacting SAU 83 at 895 6903 to make other arrangements to sign up within the candidate declaration period.  

   You must be a Fremont resident and a registered voter to declare Candidacy for Town or School District Office. You can register to vote with the Town Clerk during regular office hours and also with the Supervisors of the Checklist during posted sessions.  

   To complete the Declaration of Candidacy form, you can see the Town Clerk during regular office hours, or contact the School District Clerk.  Other election questions can be directed to the Town Clerk’s Office at 895 8693 x 307.

DELIBERATIVE SESSIONS – Held at Ellis School, 432 Main Street

School District Deliberative Session:  Saturday February 3, 2018 at 9:00 am
Snowdate:  Tuesday February 6, 2018 at 7:00 pm

Town Deliberative Session:  Monday February 5, 2018 at 7:00 pm
Snowdate:  Wednesday February 7, 2018 at 7:00 pm

Town Reports will be available in early March 2018.  You can pick one up at the Town Hall, Library, or Safety Complex during normal business hours.

Supervisors of the Checklist will meet on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the Fremont Public Library from 11:00- 11:30 am for final correction of the checklist before Town Election Day on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm.  (This is the final day for registration until Election Day.)

TBD 2018 - Candidates Night at 6:00 pm at the Fremont Public Library

Monday March 12, 2018 - Last day for the Town Clerk to accept completed absentee ballots.  Clerk is open 9:00 am to 12 noon for all business; and from 3:00 to 5:00 pm for ABSENTEE BALLOTS ONLY.

Tuesday March 13, 2018 - TOWN and SCHOOL ELECTIONS
Polls open 7:00 am to 8:00 pm at Ellis School - 432 Main Street in Fremont
Requests for Absentee Ballots shall be made in advance, through the Town Clerk.

New voters can register with the Supervisors of the Checklist on the March 13th election day.

Friday March 16, 2018 - Last day for any person for whom a vote was cast to apply to the Town Clerk for a recount.  Clerk will have special hours from 3:00 to 5:00 pm for that sole purpose.

Tuesday March 20, 2018 - Last day for 10 voters of a town to petition Clerk to recount ballots on any question printed on the official ballot.

Friday March 24, 2018 - Last day for candidates for Town office to remove political advertising.
