Candidate Declaration & voting information
CANDIDATE DECLARATION AND IMPORTANT VOTER INFORMATION for Upcoming Town & School Elections and Meetings
    
     Tuesday January 22, 2019 - Last day for new registrants who want to register prior to Candidate Declaration Period.  Supervisors of Checklist will meet from 7:00 to 7:30 pm at the Fremont Public Library.  Town Clerk is open 7:30 am to 3:00 pm.     
     This is the last time to register to vote prior to the Deliberative Sessions.  If you are not registered, you cannot vote at either Town or School Deliberative Session, as same day voter registration is NOT AVAILABLE for Deliberative Sessions.
    Please bring proper ID and proof of residency to register to vote and to all elections.  The State has tightened up the forms, and if you don’t have an ID with a Fremont address on it, you will need to bring documentation from form Verifiable Action of Domicile RSA 654:7V (available on the Town’s website, from the Supervisors at a sign-up session or from the Town Clerk.)

TOWN & SCHOOL ELECTIONS - CANDIDATE DECLARATION PERIOD

    The filing period for Town and School District Offices begins on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 and runs through Friday, February 1, 2019.  You can sign up during any Town Clerk Office hours.  On Friday February 1, 2019 the Town Clerk and School District Clerk will be available from 3:00 to 5:00 pm for sign-ups only, at the Fremont Town Hall.

          Budget Committee: 2 for 3 years
         Cemetery Trustee: 1 for 3 years
         Cemetery Trustee:  1 for 2 year
         Library Trustee: 1 for 3 years
         Selectman: 1 for 3 years
         Treasurer:  1 for 3 years        
          Trustee of Trust Funds: 1 for 3 years

SCHOOL DISTRICT POSITIONS OPEN in 2019

         School Board Member:  2 for 3 years
         School District Treasurer: 1 for 1 year
         School District Clerk: 1 for 1 year
         School District Moderator: 1 for 1 year

    Additionally, any interested School District Candidate can contact School District Clerk by contacting SAU 83 at 895 6903 to make other arrangements to sign up within the candidate declaration period.  
     You must be a Fremont resident and a registered voter to declare Candidacy for Town or School District Office. You can register to vote with the Town Clerk during regular office hours and also with the Supervisors of the Checklist during posted sessions.  
     To complete the Declaration of Candidacy form, you can see the Town Clerk during regular office hours or contact the School District Clerk.  Other election questions can be directed to the Town Clerk’s Office at 895 8693 x 307 or by email:  FremontClerk@comcast.net

2019 DELIBERATIVE SESSIONS

SCHOOL:  Saturday February 2, 2019 at 9:00 am
SCHOOL Snow date:  Tuesday February 5, 2019 at 7:00 pm

TOWN:  Monday February 4, 2019 at 7:00 pm
TOWN Snow date:  Wednesday February 6, 2019 at 7:00 pm
    All Deliberative Sessions will be held at Ellis School, 432 Main Street, in the gymnasium.


    Town Reports will be available in early March 2019.  You can pick one up at the Town Hall, Library, or Safety Complex during normal business hours.
   
Supervisors of the Checklist will meet on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the Fremont Public Library from 11:00- 11:30 am for final correction of the checklist before Town Election Day on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm.  (This is the final day for registration until Election Day.)

    TBD 2019 - Candidates Night at 6:00 pm

    Monday March 11, 2019 - Last day for the Town Clerk to accept completed absentee ballots.  Clerk is open 9:00 am to 12 noon for all business; and from 3:00 to 5:00 pm for ABSENTEE BALLOTS ONLY.

Tuesday March 12, 2019 - TOWN and SCHOOL ELECTIONS

    Polls open 7:00 am to 8:00 pm at Ellis School - 432 Main Street in Fremont.
    Requests for Absentee Ballots shall be made in advance, through the Town Clerk.
    New voters can register with the Supervisors of the Checklist on the March 12th election day.
    Friday March 15, 2019 - Last day for any person for whom a vote was cast to apply to the Town Clerk for a recount.  Clerk will have special hours from 3:00 to 5:00 pm for that sole purpose.
    Tuesday March 19, 2019 - Last day for 10 voters of a town to petition Clerk to recount ballots on any question printed on the official ballot.
    Friday March 22, 2019 - Last day for candidates for Town office to remove political advertising.
