Full-time Finance & HR Administrator

     The Town of Fremont (population 5,000) is seeking a qualified applicant to fill a newly created position of Finance & HR Administrator.  This is a highly responsible professional position with varied and complex administrative and accounting duties.  The Finance/HR Admin reports to and works closely with the Town Administrator.  Position requires the ability to exercise mature judgment and the ability to apply knowledge of GAAP, GASB, Federal and State regulations and Town Ordinances and Policies as they pertain to local government accounting and financial reporting.  Experience with QuickBooks Software is highly desirable with ability to adapt to updated accounting/PR systems.

     The selected individual will be responsible for: Oversight of the financial operations and reporting, tax reporting, payroll, payables, and receivables.  Preparing cash-flow analyses; bidding, purchasing and other financial policy development; Meeting all State and Federal reporting requirements as well as all financial reporting for Town funds, financial activities, and grants.

     The Finance/HR Admin will work with the Select Board and TA in the preparation of the annual Town budget ($4.5M); maintaining budget-to-actual accounting system; budget assessment and analysis; and will coordinate the annual audit.  Candidate should be detail-oriented, possess strong communication abilities, and demonstrate a proactive approach to staying current with municipal laws and procedures.

     Some evening meetings are required for this salaried, exempt position with a salary not to exceed $70,000 to start.  Flex-time scheduling is possible.  The Town of Fremont has an excellent benefits package, longevity program and a small, close-knit working environment.

     Minimum qualifications:  The successful candidate possesses a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree with preferred major study in accounting, business administration, or related field with at least 2-3 years of progressively-responsible experience in NH municipal government finance, accounting and audit work desired, along with supervisory experience.  A combination of education and experience demonstrating possession of the required knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered. Demonstrated knowledge of integrated computer accounting systems and general ledger maintenance and analysis and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software required.  Experience with NH DRA reporting portals required.

Full-time Buildings & Grounds Maintenance

     The Town of Fremont is seeking dedicated and energetic, self-starting applicants for a full-time position to cover a wide variety of buildings and grounds cleaning, maintenance and care.  This is a non-exempt 40 hour position.  Work schedule is generally Monday through Friday but with all-weather responsibilities, schedule will be shifted as needed for conditions and will include some nights and weekends, and a flex schedule can be discussed.  The Town is seeking a varied skill set and is looking to match the right individual and attitude with the needs of the Town. 

     The work includes all cleaning, care, repair and general maintenance of the Town Hall and Safety Complex; some maintenance of the Library all seasons; and other times as needed at cemeteries, parks and other facilities.  Seasonal winter duties include, but are not limited to snow shoveling, operating a snowblower, maintenance for snow and ice conditions at buildings and adjacent walkways; and summer duties include, but are not limited to lawn care, mowing, trimming, tree pruning, raking, and general groundskeeping as assigned.  There are other duties as assigned related to general maintenance and upkeep of town buildings, grounds, and equipment.   This includes setup for Town seasonal events (voting, Memorial Day services, Veterans events, etc).

     Ideal candidate will be a true self-starter and able to work with minimal direct supervision.  Must be reliable in all seasons, and able to work a flexible schedule to meet the varying seasonal demands.  Position will be supervised by a Maintenance Coordinator and the Town Administrator.

Part-time Town Buildings and Grounds Maintenance Supervisor  

      The Town of Fremont is seeking dedicated, energetic and self-starting applicants for a new part-time position to cover a wide variety of buildings and grounds maintenance oversight and supervision of a small maintenance staff.  This is a non-exempt position budgeted at 20 hours per week.  Work schedule is generally Monday through Friday but with all-weather responsibilities, schedule will be shifted as needed for conditions and will include some nights and weekends.  The Town is seeking a varied skill set and is looking to match the right individual and attitude with the needs of the Town. 

     The work includes oversight of cleaning, care, repair and maintenance of the Town Hall and Safety Complex; Highway buildings, ballfields/park complex, Meetinghouse and Historic Buildings.  Seasonal winter duties include, but are not limited to snow shoveling or winter maintenance as needed, scheduling, oversight and assistance as needed with maintenance projects, repairs, RFP and bidding specifications, project management, budget development, setup and takedown of all voting activities (at a FSD building) and other duties as assigned related to general maintenance and upkeep of town buildings, grounds, and equipment.   This includes organizing and performing as needed, the setup for Town seasonal events (voting, Memorial Day services, Veterans events, etc).
