Another program for teen's to nominate their favorite books is sponsered by YALSA (Young Adult Library Services Association)
The Teens' Top Ten is a "teen choice" list, where teens nominate and choose their favorite books of the previous year! Nominators are members of teen book groups in sixteen school and public libraries around the country. Nominations are posted on Support Teen Literature Day, the Thursday of National Library Week,(April 14th) and teens across the country vote on their favorite titles each year. Readers ages twelve to eighteen will vote online in August and September; the winners will be announced during Teen Read Week. For more information, previous lists and great reading ideas visit here.
Federal Student Aid
The office of Federal Student Aid, U. S. Department of Education, would like to share some important updates and information to assist us in working with students.
FAFSA (free application for federal student aid) on the Web at www.fafsa.gov is smarter and easier than ever, providing an intuitive Web experience for each applicant.
StudentAid.gov offers more than just information in an easy-to-read format; it also features videos and infographics, scattered throughout the site, to help answer frequently asked questions about financial aid. This site is also fully accessible on tablets and smartphones.
We have brochures from the New England Board of Higher Education explaining the Regional Student Program (RSP). It is a discounted program for New Hampshire students looking to attend college in the other New England states. It lists participating colleges and universities and hundreds of degree programs that may not be offered in New Hampshire public colleges.
