LIBRARY'S 4TH ANNUAL TOWN SCARECROW CONTEST: Build a scarecrow at your Fremont residence or work. Email a picture of your completed scarecrow with your name and address to firstname.lastname@example.org. Visit the library to cast your vote for the best scarecrow! Winners will be announced November 1st on the library's Facebook page as well as the Fremont Community Page.
FALL FOLIAGE HIKE: The Fremont Open Space Group and the Fremont Conservation Commission are once again offering a Fall Foliage hike. This hike will feature the connection between the Glen Oakes’ Barred Owl Trail and the new trail system in the SELT Garrison Memorial Forest. The hike will take place on Sunday, October 17th, with a rain date of Sunday, October 24th. We will meet in the Glen Oakes Parking lot, at the end of Andreski Drive, at 1:00 pm. The hike will be about 3 miles long, on developed footpaths, with only slight changes in elevation.
KEEPING SAFE – Because of Covid, the fact we will be in close proximity, and that there will be folks that are more vulnerable, we would ask everybody to help keep everyone else safe.

Drug Take Back is Saturday October 23, 2021 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Fremont Police Department, 425 Main Street. Drop off all unused and unwanted drugs!
Halloween Movie Night: The Parks & Recreation Commission will host an outdoor movie night on the front lawn of the Fremont Public Library on Saturday October 30th. Snacks, candy and drinks will be provided, bring a lawn chair and/or blanket. Wear your costume for the dance party at 6:00 pm and movie to start at 6:30 pm “It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown!”
Public Notice Town of Fremont, NH ~ Mosquito Control Program 2021: Crews from Northeast Vegetation and Mosquito Control have begun mosquito control applications as needed. Sites include wetlands, marshes, drainage ditches, catch basins and floodwater areas. When found, crews will apply larvicides to control mosquito larvae.
Larvicides used include: Cocobear (Coconut & Mineral Oil) - EPA Reg. 8329-93; BVA-2 (Mineral Oil) - EPA Reg. 70589‐1; Vectolex FG (Bacillus sphericus) - EPA Reg. 73049-20; Vectolex WSP (Bacillus sphericus) - EPA Reg. 73049-20; Vectobac G (Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis) - EPA Reg. 73049-10 Altosid P35 (Methoprene) - EPA Reg. 89459-95; Natular G (Spinosad) - EPA Reg. 8329-80
Treatment will depend on surveillance data, weather conditions and precipitation. Surveillance and treatment will continue through November 2021. Residents requesting a survey of mosquito breeding on their property can do so at https://www.northeastvmc.com/resident-request.
In the event of detection of Eastern Equine Encephalitis, West Nile Virus, or other arboviruses in mosquito populations, emergency adulticiding may be performed at schools, parks, and recreation areas. This will be determined by surveillance data, and in consultation with Town and School Officials and NH DHHS.
