Town Events and Happenings:  Updated frequently!

Town Clerk Office hours:  Tues 8 am to noon; Weds 3 to 7 pm; Thurs 9 am to 5 pm and Fri 9 am to 12 noon.  The Office is CLOSED on MONDAYS through September 8.

UPCOMING ROAD WORK COPP DRIVE & TIBBETTS ROAD:  The Highway Department is working on Copp Drive and Tibbetts Road in preparation for upcoming repaving. This includes tree pruning and removal and shoulder/ditching work.  Anyone who has sprinkler heads or other improvements located within the Town Right-of-Way is urged to move them.  The Town’s Right-of-Way is 13 feet on either side of the paved roadway, and is there for drainage improvements, snow and water removal, etc.  No homeowner improvements should be located in this area, and is subject to removal during the Town’s work.  Anyone with questions can contact the Road Agent Leon Holmes at 603 300 7430.  Paving is planned for late July or early August, weather and contractor schedule dependent.

MARTIN ROAD BRIDGE RECONSTRUCTION - We are ready to begin the construction, having bid the project this spring.  The contractor performing the construction work is Neil H Daniels.  They anticipate beginning field work late July and the first week of August including installation of portable signage about the pending closure of Martin Road.  There may be some one lane closures, but some of their work will take place out of the roadway to start.  The road closure itself is anticipated to be about four weeks, currently looking like it will be approximately August 27 through September 24.  This is still very fluid.  During the closure you will need to be aware that houses numbered 1-15 Martin Road are accessible from North Road only; and houses numbered 152 and higher on Martin Road in Fremont will be accessible from Epping, or from Shirkin Road only.

The Barthelemy’s are assisting us and graciously allowing the Town to use their land adjacent to the construction, and they will be moving fences outside the bridge area of work as well.  Thank you to all of our neighbors as we work through this process.  We will be posting updates here as they become available.  Please check back frequently.  Thank you for your patience during construction.

July 8 through Sept 6 - Town Clerk Tax Collector CLOSED ON MONDAYS for the summer.

July 10 - The Select Board's Office is beginning to send out letters relative to the pending reval process for 2025.  The letters are being prepared (and sent in batches) to anyone in Town who receives any type of credit or exemption on their taxes (Veteran's, Disabled, Elderly, etc).  Anyone who receives a credit or exemption is required to fill out the letter and return it to us in the envelope we send (or you can drop them off at the Select Board Office at the Town Hall.)  It will take us a few days to prepare and mail all the letters, but please be on the lookout in your mailbox and get the form back to us as soon as you can.  The deadline is August 30th.  Recertification of Current Use, Exemptions and Credits are all part of the revaluation process.  Please call us at 603 895 2226 if you have any questions.

August 1 & 8 - SENIOR COFFEE HOUR OPEN HOUSE - The kickoff sessions will be held on Thursdays August 1 and 8 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the Fremont Public Library.  The theme is “fun and games” where seniors are invited to play cards, Scrabble, Cribbage, Backgammon and more!  Come out for a few hours of fun and meet new people.  Coffee, tea and light refreshments will be provided.  Enjoy great conversations and games!

September 2 - All Town Offices closed in observance of the Labor Day Holiday.  Trash and recycle collection is on a one day delay.  Normal hours resume on Tuesday at all Town Offices.

September 7 - Back by popular demand, Parks & Recreation announces that George Belli and the Retroactivists Band will perform on Saturday, September 7 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on the front lawn of the Fremont Public Library.  Come listen to your favorite classic rock n roll hits from the 60s and 70s. You’ll recognize hits from the Beatles, The Who, The Kinks and more! Bring a lawn chair and enjoy this free concert.

September 10 - NH Primary Election at Ellis School with polls open 7 am to 8 pm.

FREMONT FOOD PANTRY - Anyone who needs assistance from the Fremont Food Pantry should contact Renee at (603) 244 1404 or Kim at (207) 370 5096.  The best way to make a donation to those in need of Pantry services is with a supermarket gift card or check.  Monetary/card donations can be dropped off at the Town Hall drop box or mailed in care of the Select Board’s Office to PO Box 120, Fremont NH  03044-0120.  PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE FOOD OUTSIDE after hours as it may freeze or spoil before we get it.  The Pantry holds OPEN HOUSE dates on the THIRD WEDNESDAY of each month from 6-7 pm and on the FIRST FRIDAY of each month from 9-10 am.  No appointment needed.

TRASH REMINDER:  All trash must be bagged within the toter.  Use discretion when putting out recyclables.  Plastics will blow in the wind, and paper that gets wet in the rain is NO longer recyclable.  We will post more information on the updated toter program once it becomes available.  This will replace the smaller bins which have been used in recent years for recycling.  Continue to use bins or another container (tote or laundry basket) until the recycling toters arrive.

FCTV:  In addition to live broadcast of meetings on Channels 8, 22 and now High-Definition channel 1073, FCTV also broadcasts all meetings held in the Town Hall's basement meeting room LIVE on the Internet.  FCTV live-streams Town and School meetings on Vimeo on the following link: https://vimeo.com/fctv22.  You can also watch all rebroadcasts of meetings and events at this link.  We are looking for two new members to join the FCTV Committee.  Contact Bill Millios or Heidi Carlson if interested in learning more.
