DELEGATION OF DEPOSIT AUTHORITY
TOWN OF FREMONT
Pursuant to the provisions of RSA 41:29, the Town Treasurer has the responsibility to deposit all monies received by the Town of Fremont in appropriate financial institutions as outlined in the statute.
RSA 41:29 VI allows the Treasurer to delegate deposit or other financial functions to other Town officials or employees provided such delegation is in writing and includes written procedures acceptable to the Board of Selectmen. Such delegation may only be to a Town Official or employee bonded in accordance with RSA 41:6.
The Fremont Town Treasurer hereby delegates deposit function authority to the Fremont Tax Collector per RSA 41:35, Fremont Town Clerk per RSA 261:165 and their respective Deputies, of the funds they collect in their respective roles.
The Treasurer shall ensure that all moneys remitted shall be deposited at least on a weekly basis, or daily whenever funds remitted from all departments collectively totals $1,500 or more frequently as directed by the Board of Selectmen in the Investment Policy adopted pursuant to RSA 41:9, VII.
In making these deposits, each of the authorized personnel shall provide the Fremont Town Treasurer with the original deposit slip from the Town’s general fund financial institution, in addition to a detailed remittance report documenting the receipt of monies comprised in the deposit made.
This authority shall remain in effect until rescinded by written notice of the Fremont Town Treasurer or the Board of Selectmen.
