Spring Bulky Day Saturday May 18, 2024 ~ Open 8:00 am to 12 noon at the Fremont Highway Site ~ 113 Danville Road, Fremont

Fremont Residents Only – You Must Bring ID

ITEMS WE WILL ACCEPT FOR BULKY DROP-OFF:

ELECTRONICS:  Will be handled by Palmer Cleanout.  There will be a couple of smaller (15 yard) roll-offs where electronics will be sorted and processed, at the front end of the site (so pack your vehicle accordingly).  We accept personal computers, laptops, scanners, printers, fax machines, back-up power supplies systems, photocopiers, shredders, toner cartridges, VCR’s, radios, CD players, car stereos, speakers, power cables, electronic motors, microwaves, vacuum cleaners, monitors and TV’s.  Check below for items you must pay for at the entrance of the site.

CAR BATTERIES:  Will be accepted on a pallet near the electronics dumpsters (These are free.)

APPLIANCES:  Stoves, washers, dryers, fans, trash compactors, ovens, hot water tanks, furniture, small engine equipment such as lawn mowers, snow blowers, rototillers and other small, motorized items to be recycled.  Gas grills are accepted.  

YOU MUST REMOVE BATTERIES, GAS TANKS and DRAIN OIL FROM ALL EQUIPMENT.  NO EXCEPTIONS.  THERE ARE NEW, VERY STRICT GUIDELINES ON METAL DISPOSAL.  YOU CANNOT DISPOSE OF ANY GAS TANKS WITH YOUR ITEMS. 

***No hazardous items can be in/on anything within the metal or any other dumpsters!***  Any tank for disposal must be cut in half, clean and dry.  ABSOLUTELY NO cylinders, capacitors, mercury switches, fluids/gas/oil, radioactive material or asbestos!!!

BRUSH PILE: Wood, brush and slash under 5” is acceptable, as is untreated /unpainted lumber with an end cross-sectional area of 24” or less

You will pay these fees at the first stop inside the gates, and be issued a tag to take to the drop-off dumpster or area.  You must present the ticket to drop your items that have a fee.

ITEMS WE CANNOT ACCEPT

-Regular Trash or recyclables                                             - Metal Borings, turnings or shavings

-Batteries other than car                                                     - Paint containers

-Radioactive Material                                                          - Machinery containing oil or hydraulic hoses

-Medical Waste                                                                  - Whole Oil Tanks or Oil of any kind

-Wet or Dry Transformers                                                   - Air bag Canisters, Capacitors or Ballasts

-Excessive Oily Materials                                                   - Yard Waste – leaves and grass clippings

-Building/Demolition Waste such as drywall, shingles, painted wood, pressure treated wood

NO Hazardous Materials of any kind

Swap Area - If Bulky items are in very good condition and still usable, they can be brought to the Swap Area.  Consult Volunteers before dropping anything off.  The Swap Area closes at 11:30 am.  Residents are given first priority for pick up at the swap area.

NEW SPECIAL GUIDELINES:  There have been significant changes in our vendors and how we must send materials to their facilities.

NO AMMUNITION, LITHUIM-ION BATTERIES OR OXYGEN/ACETYLENE/COMPRESSED NATURAL GAS/PROPANE TANKS can be placed in any of the dumpsters.  They cause injury to workers and SIGNIFICANT FINES.  Please maintain social distance to keep you and other community members and volunteers safe.  Thank you for your cooperation, stay safe!

 TRAFFIC is ONE WAY into the site, approaching from Main Street at Village Market.  You will leave taking a right out of the site.

Check the website for all trash and recycling updates, changes to the collection schedule for holidays, and how to prepare your recyclables.  For emergent updates, check the HOME PAGE NOTICE section of the website.  We have seen recent changes in the recycling market, and adherence to the newest guidelines helps the Town save money.  Thank you for your efforts!
