Outgrown Clothes

  • Planet Aid: Bins located at the Town Hall and Safety Complex,
  • Yellow “Public Clothing Drop": Bins located on Route 107 near Action Auto. 
  • Freecycle: A non profit, grassroots movement of people who give away items for free to interested individuals in their surrounding communities...."it's all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills."

Usable Houshold Items, Furniture, Toys, Tools etc

Leaves and grass clippings

Compost in your yard.  These items are not allowed in dumpsters or trash bags.

Items Containing Mercury

It is against the law to throw mercury-containing products into the garbage as of January 1, 2008.  This includes:
  • Fluorescent lamps
  • Compact fluorescent lamps
  • Thermometers
  • Thermostats
  • Tilt switches
  • Manometers
  • Button batteries

The following items are accepted at the Town's bi-annual BULKY DAY drop-off days. These are held annually spring and fall, with a mailer and all details mailed out in advance of each event. Information is also posted on this website as soon as the flyer is generated, including date and time, along with any fees:
 
  • Items Containing Freon (air conditioners, Refrigerators)
  • Computer Monitors, Televisions, Computers
  • White Goods (washing machines, dryers etc)
  • Brush, Propane Tanks, Tires
  • Electronics
  • Car Batteries
